What’s your role?
Essentially, my role is to make sure you fall over Weetabix when you’re shopping! Whether this is through making aisles more shopper-friendly, setting the category strategy or ensuring our brands are easy to find, it all leads back to guaranteeing you can’t miss Weetabix when choosing your breakfast.
How long have you been at Weetabix?
I’ve been at Weetabix for over eight years now, working in a variety of different roles. I first applied as I knew the brand was very well respected in the trade, as well as loved by the nation! It felt like a great opportunity to be involved in something that everyone knows.
What’s it like to work at Weetabix?
No two days are the same, and that’s what I love. I am always surrounded by brilliant people who want to do great things for our brands. The culture isn’t overly corporate and always has a positive and upbeat atmosphere. For a big company, we still maintain a small business feel. We move fast, but I see that as a real positive.
What do you most enjoy about working at Weetabix?
The team here at Weetabix has always been good at finding new roles for me which challenge me and make best use of my skills. The people here also have diverse working backgrounds, so we are in a good place to constantly challenge our ways of thinking. We’re not a hierarchical business, which means everyone talks to everyone, no matter what your role or position.
What opportunities have you had whilst at Weetabix?
Weetabix place a good deal of focus on developing its people. For me, this has focussed on leadership capability which can be transferred across roles. My skillset has certainly broadened throughout my time here – long may it continue!
Anything you’d like to share with us about your role?
My remit is pretty broad, and that brings plenty of challenges. Keeping the team motivated and aligned is the most important part of my job. When it comes to the detail, I can usually add the most value by keeping out of their way – they’re the experts!
What do you love doing outside of work?
I love keeping active and enjoy anything outdoors. Biking, climbing, walking and running are some of my favourite activities.
